YOUR $50 - $500 GIFT CAN CHANGE A CHILD'S LIFE

At our February Industry Achievement Awards we recognized three students from the Technology Access Foundation's (TAF) TechStart Program as "Technology Leaders of Tomorrow" with scholarships totaling $2,500.  TechStart is a free after-school program which provides technology and academic education to underserved students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Today we are kicking off a summer campaign to provide TAF students with the lab coats, academic tools, backpacks, and supplies they need - yet can't afford.  Your financial contribution - no matter how small – will make huge difference to these students.  And if you act quickly it's easy to double your investment.  AH&T Insurance has generously agreed to match the first $2500 in contributions!

State Board of Education Moves Forward on Improving K-12 Education
One of the bright spots in K-12 education is the work the State Board of Education, is doing to make a high school diploma meaningful.  They are taking a comprehensive look at graduation requirements so that tomorrow's students will have a solid education coming out of high school so that they can get into and succeed in college or go into an apprenticeship program to learn a valuable trade.

Today a student can graduate high school with the required credits but it is not enough to get into a Washington state university.  Most school districts have added their own local requirements that would require enough credits to match college entrance requirements but it makes no sense for the state requirement not to match up with college entrance requirements.

Meet Xcarab Inc.
Tell us about your company and specifics on your product/service.
Xcarab was founded in 2001 by a core team of technologists who wanted to extend the technical lifestyles and collaborative development we enjoyed. Today we offer a number of technology management and consulting services, from full application design and development to a question and answer sessions. We have expertise in a number of areas but focus our efforts into three main groups. Our services break out into three major categories:

  • Web and Application development, where we help customers design and develop the web based solutions that drive their organizations. As part of this solution we offer hosting and support as well as the development team.
  • Technical Consulting, which is primarily marketing support for our clients. We help them package, target, and communicate their solution. Our clients like to have a technical resource contribute to the sales and marketing effort to keep messages on point for the community.
  • Virtualization; our team has been using and extending virtual machines and virtual infrastructures since we started. We currently support a number of global virtualization initiatives, with different clients and are always looking at different ways the technology helps us and our clients.
